About Me
I'm an experienced software and systems engineer exploring how AI can extend the engineering process—not just accelerate coding, but improve how we understand, design, and evolve complex software systems. I have experience spanning the full software development life cycle—from requirements and architecture through design, implementation, testing, project management, and maintenance.
Working across these disciplines has shaped how I approach engineering problems. I tend to see product development through a systems-engineering lens. Writing code is only part of the job. Understanding the problem, establishing sound requirements, managing complexity, and ensuring that the pieces work together are equally important.
My academic background combines Physics and Business. That combination should probably be illegal—or at least require a psychological evaluation before being released back into the wild. In practice, it has served me well: I enjoy both the technical challenges of engineering and the broader questions of how systems are designed, built, and delivered.
I'm particularly interested in how AI-assisted software development can improve the way we engineer complex systems. I'm exploring the intersection of software architecture, requirements, formal modeling, and AI-driven development, with an eye toward making software easier to understand, evolve, and maintain.
I believe the next generation of software engineering tools should do more than generate code. They should help preserve the reasoning, structure, and intent behind the code—especially when working with established systems that must continue to evolve.
I'm interested in opportunities where I can apply my engineering experience, explore new approaches, and help turn difficult technical problems into practical solutions.
Why Pack Mule Forge
I live and work on the road, traveling throughout the lower 48 states with my office, equipment, and tools along for the ride. That mobility gives me the freedom to work from wherever I happen to be—and to embrace the adventure of getting there.
For me, engineering and life have something important in common: both are adventures in discovery, problem-solving, and turning possibilities into reality. I believe life is an adventure if you choose to make it one, and I try to bring that spirit to my work as well as my travels.
The name reflects that approach. A pack mule carries what you need to get the job done, and a forge is where raw materials are shaped into something useful. Pack Mule Forge is where I bring my experience, tools, and curiosity together to build something worthwhile.
